Stevens Construction Inc. earned four awards at the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) Industry Awards including the highest honor of the night, the Contractor of the Year, announced Mark Stevens, company president.
A panel of nationwide judges named Stevens Construction Contractor of the Year based on criteria such as the company’s achievement of goals, client relations and community responsibilities. This is the 11th year Stevens Construction has received this honor, the company won in 2023, 2022, 2020, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2012, 2011 and 2007.
Revenue growth and propelling the company’s special projects division were among Stevens Construction’s goals. From 2021 to 2022, Stevens Construction grew revenue by 77%, the company’s best year to date, despite Hurricane Ian, rising construction costs, interest rates, labor shortages and material delays.
Stevens Construction’s special projects division, focusing on projects under $1M, grew 91% from 2021 to 2022. Special projects include tenant improvements, additions, renovations, repairs and specialty projects.
Stevens Construction won a Summit Award for best build-out project for Edison Eye Care located at 19527 Highland Oaks Drive, Suite 203, in Estero. Completed by the special projects division, Edison Eye Care specializes in medical eye care, pediatric and infant vision, specialty contact lens evaluation, myopia management and neuro-developmental optometry.
Stevens Construction was honored in the best commercial category in two price divisions for East & Greenwell Insurance and Conservancy of Southwest Florida Environmental Studies Dormitory. Located at 10061 University Plaza Drive in Fort Myers, East & Greenwell offers homeowners, flood and array of insurance coverages in its 12,123-square-foot building. Delivered ahead of schedule to the client, despite Hurricane Ian, East & Greenwell also has space available for lease.
The Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s Environmental Studies Dormitory also earned a Summit Award in the $5M-$8M category. Located at 1495 Smith Preserve Way in Naples, the two-story, 23-915-square-foot dorm houses 16 dorms to accommodate 32 students as well as provides additional administrative space.
Stevens Construction has earned 69 Summit Awards since the program began in 2006.
The Summit Awards program recognizes BIA members who have obtained an outstanding level of success and demonstrated superior professionalism in the commercial construction industry throughout the year. The projects were judged for quality of construction, challenges, timeliness of completion, client satisfaction and safety.
