Sept. 27 – The Lee Health Foundation is coordinating Clips for Cancer to raise awareness and support for Barbara’s Friends – Golisano Children’s Hospital Cancer Fund. Doctors and hospital staff, along with community leaders, will have their heads shaved by pediatric cancer patients in exchange for donations to Barbara’s Friends, which provides funding for innovative programs, services, equipment and the best medical care so children in our community do not have to leave Southwest Florida for treatment. The event will be streamed live on Facebook and viewers can donate through that platform. LINK: Clips for Cancer

Sept. 12 – Pine Manor Improvement Association is hosting a Farm-to-Table Tasting Party in Fort Myers to raise money for programs and services that support nearly 3,000 children and families. Participating restaurants and chefs include Norman Love Confections, Allen Fisher from Shangri-La Springs’ Harvest & Wisdom, Jordan Webster and Richard Crisanti with Shadow Wood Country Club. Sept. 12 – Child Care of Southwest Florida is hosting a “Friend Raiser” at Mark Loren Designs in Fort Myers to share information about how the top-accredited organization has been positively impacting the community for more than 50 years. Sept. 14 – Cypress Pharmacy will host a free educational seminar in Fort Myers exploring anxiety, depression and the benefits of hemp-derived CBD oil lecture. Dr. Stan Headley, the pharmacy’s natural health consultant, will lead the session. LINK: Saturday Seminar

Sept. 16 & 20 – Naples Center for Functional Medicine is beginning a pair of six-week, physician-led courses outlining strategies to lead a healthier lifestyle through natural, research-driven solutions. LINK: Fall Seminars

Sept. 20 – The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce will host its 2019 Business Summit, which includes sessions covering cyber security, networking, communications, video marketing, policy development, internships and more. LINK: Business Summit

Sept. 21 – The Sally J. Pimentel Deaf & Hard of Hearing Center will host “Deaf Life: Get to Know it” in Fort Myers, an interactive experience coinciding with Deaf Awareness Month. LINK: Deaf Life

Sept. 27 – Brown & Brown Insurance of Southwest Florida will host its fourth annual Charity Golf Outing in Estero to benefit Child Care of Southwest Florida, which uses proceeds to provide scholarships for children attending its early childhood education programs. LINK: Charity Golf Outing

Sept. 27-29: Matanzas on the Bay and Pierside Grill are each hosting musical performances during the Island Hopper Songwriter Fest, which is holding its final weekend on Fort Myers Beach. LINK: Island Hopper

Sept. 28 – One Way Out will host its Purple Tie Ball in Fort Myers to raise money for its ministry that reaches women in rough places, brushing them off in love and introducing them to a real life with Christ. The event includes a live and silent auction, dinner and entertainment by a Barbara Streisand tribute artist. LINK: Purple Tie Ball

Sept. 28 – Fort Myers Brewing Company is hosting the Savage 4X4 Hero Project, which features live music, delicious food and great beer. The brewer will donate a portion of proceeds during the event to a program that customizes vehicles for returning veterans. LINK: Hero Project
