Harvest & Wisdom at Shangri-La Springs hosts Italics Wine Dinner

Harvest & Wisdom at Shangri-La Springs, a historic property in downtown Bonita Springs specializing in organic, farm-to-table cuisine, will host an Italics Wine Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. The ticketed event includes a fall-inspired, organic garden driven four-course dinner with six wine pairings from the boutique luxury producer of Bordeaux varietals and blends from Napa Valley.

During the event, guests will have the opportunity enjoy a decadent organic menu featuring fresh-from-the-garden produce and farm pastured protein from nearby Circle C Farm. Michelin-Starred Executive Chef Allen Fisher, competitor on Food Network’s Chopped, brings more than 18 years of professional cooking and kitchen management experience and an extensive background of developing new concepts using local and organic products to his role as executive chef and food and beverage director. Wine pairings and insight will be provided by John Trant, director of brand development for Italics Winegrowers.

“We are very excited to partner with Italics, as their team shares our interest in understanding where and how their ingredients are grown,” said Executive Chef Allen Fisher. “They started as farmers and share our belief that great end products start in the field.”

The event includes a four-course dinner with six wine pairings for $125 per person. To purchase tickets, click here. Seating is limited. Advance ticket purchase is required.

About Italics

The Martin family grew 25 acres of Texas farmland into one of the state’s finest Ruby Red grapefruit orchards with more than 7,000 acres. Bringing their growing expertise to wine in Napa Valley, they started with the prestigious Appellations series of wines. In the Vaca Mountains in Coombsville, Napa’s newest AVA (American Viticultural Area), the family found the right location with 300 feet of elevation change and three distinct soil types, the result of volcanic eruptions that occurred three to five million years ago. A 16,000 square foot cave complex holds the Italics’ barrel aging facility and as tasting room. With a tiny release of only 350 cases in its beginning, Italics has grown to around 4,500 cases per year.
