The 37th annual Everglades Coalition Conference will be a three-day event held at Hawks Cay Resort in Duck Key. This year’s theme is Everglades Restoration: Investing in a Climate Resilient Future.
A forum for discussing Everglades restoration progress, challenges and opportunities, the conference’s attendees typically include scientists, educators, conservationists, media, students and members of the public, as well as decision-makers and representatives from federal, state, local and tribal governments. Topics of discussion include the science behind restoration and climate change, connectivity and collaboration in the Everglades, federal policy under new leadership, Florida Bay seagrass recovery and nature-based solutions.

Jan 14: The sixth annual MarineMax Yacht Gala: An Evening Under the Stars will feature a night of luxury and pleasure to support the Lee Health Foundation and Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. Jan. 20: The School District of Lee County is hosting Social Lee: Careers & Conversations, an informational event that will provide insight on available teaching positions. Ideal for prospective career-changers and working professionals, attendees will have opportunities to meet school leaders, as well as learn about career paths and the process of becoming certified to teach in Florida. Jan. 20: Guadalupe Center is hosting Guadalupe Galaxy: Constellations of Hope, Charting the Future at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples to raise money for life-changing educational programs for students in Immokalee. Jan. 21: Real estate and business entrepreneur David Hoffmann, chair of the Hoffmann Family of Companies, is the featured speaker for the prestigious NextGen Speaker Series event in January. Jan. 27: Tourism and marketing will be the focus of January’s Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Monthly Luncheon. Tamara Pigott, executive director of the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau, will share updates about the agency’s new marketing campaign, website, visitor guide and brand, as well as provide an overview of the region’s tourism.
