Naples Center for Functional Medicine to host free lecture on May 22 examining health benefits of genetic testing

Naples Center for Functional Medicine is hosting a complimentary lecture on May 22 that explores the benefits of incorporating genetic testing into patients’ overall health and wellness plans.

Naples Center for Functional Medicine has begun offering IntellxxDNA™ testing, a cutting-edge program that helps physicians understand patients’ health care risks by using evidence-based, science-focused genomic intelligence.

“Direct-to-consumer genetic testing has increased in popularity, but many of those tests just satisfy a curiosity about one’s ancestry,” said Dr. Eduardo Maristany, who will lead the lecture at Naples Center for Functional Medicine. “IntellxxDNA™ testing provides comprehensive medical reports to understand patients’ likelihood of developing certain illnesses, such as heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s and osteoporosis. This gives us the opportunity to develop a custom nutritional, medications, exercise and wellness plan based on a patient’s genetic profile.”

Maristany is a board-certified internal medicine physician at Naples Center for Functional Medicine. He was trained by the Institute of Functional Medicine.

The free lecture starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at the Naples Center for Functional Medicine, 800 Goodlette-Frank Road, Suite 270, in Naples.
