The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, sharing updates on licensure regulations and how they impact local businesses and professionals.

During the luncheon, attendees will hear from Melanie Griffin, Esq., secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, who will share updates directly from Tallahassee regarding business and professional licensures.

Griffin was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis in January 2022 to serve as secretary for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, which licenses and regulates nearly 1.7 million licensees across more than 30 fields of industry. She brings a wealth of business and legal knowledge, with more than 15 years of experience as an attorney handling commercial litigation, employment law, contracts, real estate and more.

A proud native Floridian, Griffin obtained her bachelor’s, master’s and law degrees from Florida State University. She also currently serves as a member of the Florida State University Student Affairs Development Council as well as the College of Business Board of Governors and College of Law Board of Visitors.

The July luncheon will take place at Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Myers Estero, located at 10450 Corkscrew Commons Drive in Estero. Admission is $35 for Chamber members and $40 for future members and includes lunch. Attendees must register for the event by Friday, July 5; walk-ins will not be accepted.
