Wonder Gardens offers special tours and experiences

The Wonder Gardens is offering several tours and activities to enhance guest experiences and provide additional insight into the history, animals, plant connections and more at the historic Bonita Springs attraction.

Wild Wonders Animal Encounters and guided walks are offered at an additional charge to regular admission. Weekly Habitat Chats are free for visitors.

“Through these first-hand experiences, we hope to deepen understanding of the way animals, plants and people relate, inspiring our guests to make a wonderful impact in the natural world,” said Katie Grimes, education and volunteer manager. “These experiences provide information and insight beyond self-guided tours.”

Experiences include:
• Wonder Walk Guided Tours are about 45 minutes and include discussion of animals and plants that make Wonder Gardens unique on select Saturday and Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. Walks are recommended for all ages and are $10 per person in addition to paid admission.
• Mindfulness Walks are about 45 minutes and include experiencing nature through interrelationships of a curated selection of plants and animals in the garden. The guided tours are on Monday and Thursday mornings at 9:15 a.m. Walks are recommended for ages 9 and older and are $10 per person in addition to paid admission.
• Wild Wonder Animal Encounters are about 30 minutes and allow guests to meet and feed the Sulcata tortoise, the third largest tortoise species in the world, and Rainbow and Coconut lorikeets. Tours are $20 per person for members of Wonder Gardens and $25 for nonmembers. See tour schedule and details here: wondergardens.org/product/wild-wonders-animal-encounters/
• Habitat Chats are offered every Thursday at 1 p.m., are free with paid admission and are an opportunity to chat with expert staff about selected animal residents and learn more about how they are cared for at the Gardens and how to protect them in their natural environments. Topics vary.
