Warrior Homes of Collier announces more than $400,000 in donations from 11 local philanthropic groups

Warrior Homes of Collier, a local nonprofit dedicated to eradicating veteran homelessness in the county, has announced more than $400,000 in recent donations from nearly a dozen local philanthropic groups.

The recent contributions will enable Warrior Homes of Collier to provide additional shelter and support, said Dale Mullin, the organization’s founder and president.  Beyond housing, Warrior Homes also connects veterans with mental health counseling and peer support, as well as educational opportunities, including college scholarships.

The Naples-based nonprofit operates six residences for local veterans, including a short-term, transitional home for those in recovery from substance use disorders, and a pair of houses that serve seniors on fixed incomes.

“As a Vietnam veteran, I’m truly thankful for the continued generosity of our friends and neighbors,” Mullin said. “More importantly, these additional resources will further help ensure that no veteran in need gets left behind in our community.”
