Sizzle Dining
Dates: Sept. 1-30
Location: 140 Restaurants in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties
Event Description:
Sizzle Dining, Southwest Florida’s premier culinary fundraiser, is celebrating its milestone 10th year with a record 140 restaurants while stretching the epicurean event for the entire month of September. This year’s ambitious goal is 100,000 Sizzle meals served in 30 days.
Here’s how it works: local chefs create a special discounted Sizzle menu for dinner, lunch or breakfast. Participating restaurants span from Marco Island through Punta Gorda, and range from fast-casual to fine dining locations. For every Sizzle Dining meal sold, participating restaurants donate $1 to benefit the Southwest Florida chapter of Blessings in a Backpack, a nonprofit that feeds food-insecure elementary school children on weekends and during the summer.

Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina will celebrate Labor Day weekend with four days of live entertainment, an interactive Tiki Cocktail Showdown and Food Truck Wars competitions, Slipaway’s first weekly mat Pilates led by Rise Pilates, a Summer Social Sip & Shop market and waterfront fun.

Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach will celebrate Jimmy Buffett Day with live music, island-inspired entertainment and a Day of Service in partnership with My Autism Connection, honoring the legendary singer’s legacy of service. The annual celebration invites locals and visitors to embrace Buffett’s carefree lifestyle while enjoying a day of music, community and tropical fun on Fort Myers Beach.

Sept. 4-7
Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Naples will host its annual Jimmy Buffett Day of Service and Labor Day Weekend festivities to benefit the Louisville Slugger Warriors. Activities include a silent auction and 50/50 raffle, games, a book signing with Curtis Pride, live music, and meet-and-greets with parrots from the Bird Gardens of Naples.

Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties is offering prospective homeowners an opportunity to tour a newly built Habitat twin villa in Bonita Springs and learn about how the organization helps local families achieve their housing and financial goals.

Bay Street Yard is kicking off the NFL season with a rematch of the Super Bowl as the New England Patriots take on the Seattle Seahawks. The game will be displayed on the jumbo LED screen with sound while guests can enjoy Football Happy Hour drink specials.

The Calusa Sportsman Foundation’s annual Inshore Fishing Tournament at The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village includes a captain’s dinner, fishing tournament and awards dinner. Proceeds support Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County and Valerie’s House.

ROAR Offshore, presented by Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach, returns to Fort Myers Beach for the first time since Hurricane Ian, bringing high-speed powerboat racing, live entertainment, fan experiences and waterfront excitement back to the island. The three-day event will feature some of the world’s top offshore racing teams as thousands of spectators gather to celebrate the community’s resurgence and one of Southwest Florida’s premier sporting events.

The 9/11 Heroes Run welcomes runners, ruckers and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor 9/11 heroes and all who have stepped up to serve in the wars that followed.

Brightwater Lagoon will host its first installation of a six-part Behind the Bottle series, an interactive cocktail experience led by expert mixologists. September’s theme is Tequila, bringing premium tequila craftsmanship to the spotlight with its crisp agave flavor and unmistakably refined finish.
