SWFL Community Prayer Breakfast
Location: JetBlue Park, Fort Myers
Time: 6 a.m. breakfast, 7 a.m. program
Description: Two-time national champion, first-round NFL draft pick and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow will headline the 2023 Southwest Florida Community Prayer Breakfast at JetBlue Park. The complimentary event coincides with the National Day of Prayer, an annual observance on the first Thursday of May when individuals of all faiths join in unified prayer for continued blessings on the nation.
Tebow grew up the son of missionaries and established the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2010 with the goal of bringing faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. Tebow is the author of four New York Times Best Selling books including “Through My Eyes,” “Discovering Your True Identity,” “This Is The Day” and “Bronco & Friends.”
The Fort Myers community has been honoring the National Day of Prayer since the Community Prayer Breakfast’s inception in 1988.

The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels will celebrate the resiliency and strength of Southwest Florida’s coastal communities at the 30th annual Islands Night, which includes a pregame parade and jersey auction to support coastal nonprofits.

Better Together’s Better Job Fair will be held at Rise Christian Church in Lehigh Acres and include employment resources and services, in addition to on-the-spot job interviews with local employers.

The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce’s Cornhole Tournament will offer a fun, friendly competition with double-elimination rounds leading to the tournament champion. The event will feature food trucks, craft beers from local breweries, a lively DJ and fun, including a dunking booth, hole-in-one and more.

NAMI Collier County 21st annual Hope Shines mental health awareness walk, which coincides with mental health awareness month, will include music, refreshments, face painting, balloon animals and family-friendly fun for participants.

Pace Center for Girls, Lee will host its FUNky Fashion Show, which features one-of-a-kind dresses made from recycled and repurposed materials. There will be a featured artist, celebrity servers at VIP tables, a catered dinner and music.

Avow will celebrate Nurses Week by showcasing nursing staff serving drinks from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bone Hook Brewing Company in Naples. The nurses will serve drinks, with tips going to support the Avow Nurses Scholarship Program.

Avow is planning a free Mother’s Day Celebration Dinner for children in the community who have lost mothers or grandmothers on May 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ispiri Community Center at 1205 Whippoorwill Lanes, Naples.
