“Cooking with Love”

Renowned chocolatier Norman Love and his award-winning culinary team at Norman Love Confections will be offering a delectable lineup of chocolate classes for a hands-on chocolate lovers’ experience. Ideal for individuals and groups of friends looking for a unique social experience, “Cooking with Love” features 10 classes, the first starting on May 6, centered on artisan chocolates.
“Learn to make gourmet desserts in our world-renowned kitchens with our master chefs by your side,” said Norman Love, founder and owner of Norman Love Confections. “During the cooking class, students can expect an interactive and fun-filled evening where they will create sweet creations of their very own to take home.”

May 1-31: Southwest Florida Costco stores will participate in a Balloon Campaign to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida through the Children’s Miracle Network. Donations collected locally will help provide life-saving medical care to children in the region. LINK: Balloon Campaign
May 4: Women in Business, a committee of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, will host its monthly networking session at Busey Bank in Fort Myers. The event will showcase mentoring opportunities available at area nonprofits. Light refreshments will be served and guests are encouraged to bring business cards. LINK: Women in Business
(SOLD OUT) May 5: Dr. Ben Carson will be the keynote speaker at the Southwest Florida Community Prayer Breakfast, which is held in observance of the National Day of Prayer and offers opportunities for individuals of all faiths to join in unified prayer for continued blessings on the nation. May 5: Fort Myers Brewing’s Cinco de Mayo celebration will feature a limited-edition beer release, food truck rally and live music. The brewery is releasing No Nombre, a refreshing and light-bodied Mexican lager, available on tap and in cans. Guests can also enjoy specialty menus from four local food trucks and a DJ. May 6: The Guadalupe Charity Golf Classic will be held at Vineyards Country Club in Naples. Participants will enjoy a round of championship golf, lunch, cocktail party, awards ceremony and a silent auction. Proceeds help support educational programs for students in Immokalee. May 6 & 17: Senior Choice at Home is hosting a pair of Dine & Discover luncheon seminars in Punta Gorda. The innovative, member-based program for independent, healthy older adults provides a lifelong commitment to care, asset protection and the ability to receive individualized care coordination, all from the comforts of their own home to show how older adults can stay in their homes as they age. May 7: Shoeless Joe’s Sports Café is hosting its annual Kentucky Derby Party, which features Derby-themed food, drinks and fanfare in celebration of America’s longest-running annual sporting event. May 8: The Wonder Gardens is hosting a Free Admission Day for Bonita Springs residents to recognize the role residents and the city played in saving the 85-year-old attraction. Guests just need to provide proof of residency upon entrance.
May 8: Fort Myers Brewing is hosting Brunch & Brews, which features specialty brews, food and live music. Guests can enjoy beermosas and Get Lei’d, a pineapple pilsner, as well as breakfast favorites from Mad Brunch food truck. LINK: Brunch & Brews
May 10: Leadership NEXT, a monthly program for advancing business professionals, will feature experts representing roofing, insurance, law and disaster services for a timely topic: “Storm Season: What you need to know to protect you and your property.” Monthly sessions offer opportunities to develop new knowledge and skills, establish working relationships with colleagues, and engage in valuable programs and discussions that enhance careers. May 12: Business Before Breakfast, a monthly networking session with light refreshments, will be held at Jason’s Deli in Fort Myers. Guests are encouraged to bring business cards. LINK: Business Before Breakfast
May 13: Better Together is hosting Parents’ Night Out at Golden Gate Community Center in Naples. The program offers parents, grandparents and other caregivers access to a couple of hours of no-cost care for children ages infant through 17 years old. Better Together will provide background-checked volunteers in addition to dinner, games and fun for children to enjoy while parents are away.
May 14: The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are bringing back Party at the Park, a post-game concert and music celebration that will feature country artists Joe Nichols and Parmalee. It’s also a Guaranteed Win Night, so if the Mussels lose, all fans will receive free tickets to the next day’s game. LINK: Party at the Park
May 19: The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce’s May Luncheon will focus on health and wellness, and the organizations that help Southwest Florida residents reach their health and wellness goals. Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts will host the luncheon. LINK: Chamber Luncheon
May 26: Beers with your Peers, a night of casual networking created by the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, will convene at Blue Moon Pizza in Fort Myers. LINK: Beers with Your Peers
