Through May 8: Norman Love Confections is offering its 2021 Mother’s Day Collection, a limited-edition assortment of heart-shaped chocolates that includes 10 artisanal flavors enveloped in velvety white, milk and dark chocolate. Flavors include cupcake, snickerdoodle, coconut cake, mimosa, special dark, cherry pie, grandma’s chocolate cake, banana bread, German chocolate cake and cherry cheesecake. LINK: Mother’s Day Collection 

May 3, 10, 17 & 24Senior Choice at Home is hosting “Taste of Mexico Mondays,” a themed fiesta in May that provides a sampling of unparalleled epicurean adventures that residents enjoy every day while introducing attendees to the community’s innovative Life Plans and full continuum of care. May 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31: Kids’ Minds Matter is hosting a series of virtual Partners in Parenting courses for parents of children with developmental disabilities, mental health issues and special health care needs. LINK: The Exceptional Child    

May 4: The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce will host a “Beers With Your Peers” networking night at Palm City Brewing. The event doubles as a kickoff for the annual 5K race. LINK: Beers With Your Peers 

May 5The Women in Business Committee, an initiative of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, will host its May networking event at Broadway Palm Dinner Theater. Neogenomics Laboratories’ global director for facilities and operations experience, will lead the discussion. May 5: Gulf Coast Village is transporting residents and visitors south of the border for a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta featuring lunch, salsa, margaritas and a party. LINK: Cinco de Mayo Fiesta 

May 5-9: The 5-Day 5K in May, presented by Lee Health, allows participants to complete their race on their own over the course of five days. Proceeds benefit the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce. LINK: 5-Day 5K  

May 6Community Cooperative is requesting volunteers for its 18th annual Sam Galloway, Jr. & Friends Soup Kitchen Benefit, which will be held inside Sam Galloway Ford’s service garages and feature a southern-style dinner prepared by local restaurants and businesses as guests raise much-needed funds to support those struggling with hunger and homelessness. May 6 & 25: Better Together is hosting Coffee and Conversations, a virtual event to learn more about the organization and its volunteer opportunities. The nonprofit’s focus is empowering people through better families and better jobs. LINK: Coffee and Conversations

May 13: Join Gulf Coast Village’s director of environmental services and the Cape Coral Fire Department’s emergency management coordinator for a Hurricane Preparedness Workshop over lunch. May 26: Chef Anthony Bonanni at Gulf Coast Village will take local foodies on a culinary trip to Mexico as he leads participants through fun cooking demonstrations while providing a sampling of unparalleled epicurean adventures that residents enjoy every day. Mexico is the fifth stop in this international cooking series. LINK: Cooking around the World
