Independence Day Celebrations
OPTION 1 – A Blast at the Ballpark
Date: July 4
Description:
The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels will host a three-day Independence Day Celebration that includes fireworks shows, food specials and affordable family fun.
Highlighting the weekend is the team’s postgame fireworks extravaganza on Thursday, July 4 that will be the biggest show in the history of Hammond Stadium at the Lee County Sports Complex. Fans will enjoy food and drink specials all evening, and the concession menu includes all-American ballpark favorites like hot dogs, chicken tenders, cheeseburgers and Philly cheesesteaks, as well as freshly squeezed lemonade, ICEEs, Dippin’ Dots and soft serve ice cream in a Mighty Mussels keepsake helmet. Concession stands also will feature a large selection of draft beers and craft beers from breweries across the country.
Tickets for the game, which begins at 7:05 p.m., start at $10 and can be purchased online or at the box office.

OPTION 2 – Fun in the Sun
Date: July 4
Description:
Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach is Southwest Florida’s new headquarters for Fourth of July revelers looking for convenient, exclusive access to special activities to celebrate the holiday, including:
- 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m.: Pre-Parade Pop-Up Bar at Fins Up! Beach Club
- 10 a.m.: Fourth of July Parade along Estero Boulevard
- 1-5 p.m.: Live Entertainment at Fins Up! Beach Club
- 4-9 p.m.: Firework Viewing Cookout at the Sunset Terrace
The festivities continue on July 5 and July 6 with live entertainment throughout the day and evening.

All month, Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach is offering Fins Up! Beach Club day passes for $33 Monday-Thursday and $38 Friday-Sunday (special price not available on July 4). Fins Up! includes a sundeck, lagoon swimming pool, cabanas and poolside service.

ECHO, a leading advocate for sustainable agriculture and food security, will host a weeklong course on sustainable farming at its North American Regional Impact Center. Discussions will focus on improved food security and agricultural livelihoods for small-scale farmers in developing countries.

Storyteller Nan Colton returns to Gulf Coast Village and will bring to life the story of Harriet Beecher Stowe, the second installation of the senior community’s Remarkable Women in History summer series.
