Feb. 12: Reel in the Sunshine
Sunshine Ace Hardware’s sixth annual Reel in the Sunshine fishing expo will feature interactive seminars and discussions led by local fishing guides and boat captains, as well as vendor-led product demonstrations, hot-off-the-grill BBQ samples prepared by Sunshine Ace’s grill masters, numerous giveaways and exclusive merchandise discounts only available during the event.
There is no admission cost to attend Reel in the Sunshine, but guests can help support Captains for Clean Water through a raffle and charity luncheon.

Through Feb. 14: Indulge your valentine with the rich, luxurious flavors of Norman Love Confections’ 2022 Valentine’s Day Collection. Feb. 1: Gulf Coast Village is celebrating the Year of the Tiger with a Chinese New Year celebration that includes traditional cuisine, games and fun activities. Seating is limited. LINK: Chinese New Year
Feb. 3: Early risers are invited to Business Before Breakfast, a networking session with light refreshments that will be held this month at Fifth Third Bank’s location on College Parkway in Fort Myers. Guests are encouraged to bring business cards. LINK: Business Before Breakfast
Feb. 4: The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first Workforce Event that includes a breakfast buffet and features conversations about developing short- and long-term workforce initiatives. Feb. 4, 11, 18 & 25: Kids’ Minds Matter is hosting a series of virtual Partners in Parenting courses for parents of children with developmental disabilities, mental health issues and special health care needs. LINK: The Exceptional Child
Feb. 5: Pace Center for Girls, Lee will host its Believing in Girls Gala, a black-tie preferred fundraising event that will feature cocktails, dinner, dancing as well as an array of live auction and raffle items. “Under the Stars” will benefit Pace Lee, which provides girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training and advocacy. Feb. 9: Residents of Gulf Coast Village will host a Lunch & Learn event to explain why they love living in Cape Coral’s premier Continuing Care Retirement Community. Feb. 9: Women in Business, a committee of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, will host a Sweethearts & Scholarships Auction to raise money for non-traditional students at Florida SouthWestern State College, Florida Gulf Coast University and Hodges University. Feb. 11 & 25: Wonder Gardens is planning a Florida Landscaping Expert Certification Program that includes information about landscaping in the subtropics. LINK: Landscaping
Feb. 12: Leadership NEXT, a monthly program for advancing business professionals, will host its February networking program in conjunction with the FGCU Day celebration being held on campus to commemorate the university’s 25th anniversary. LINK: Leadership NEXT
Feb. 15: Shangri-La Springs will host a garden tea party that includes a guided tour of our organic garden, followed by a tea party with tea and light bites. Registration is required. LINK: Garden Tea Party
Feb. 16: Growing Climate Solutions: Path to Positive Southwest Florida will host the first of three spring events addressing climate change’s impacts and potential solutions. Chef Rick Moonen, Master Development Chef for Perry’s Restaurants, will present “Sustainable Pescatarians: Ensuring the Seafood Industry has Responsible Practices.” LINK: Climate Compass Series
Feb. 17: The Wonder Gardens’ 2022 Enchanted Gala offers opportunities to stroll the property while enjoying custom cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music, entertainment and a live auction. Feb. 17-18: The Boston Red Sox Celebrity Golf Classic is a two-day event to raise money for Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. The Boston “Tee” Party is an evening social event the night before the golf tournament, which include players, coaches and staff at The Forest Country Club in Fort Myers. LINK: Red Sox
Feb. 18-21: The Bobby Nichols Fiddlesticks Charity Foundation’s 20th annual Nichols Cup Pro-Am Golf & Tennis Tournaments will benefit local causes supporting abused and at-risk children. The four-day event features golf and tennis tournaments, a gala event, and live and silent auctions. LINK: Nichols Cup
Feb. 19: The Guardian ad Litem Foundation, 20th Judicial Circuit, will host the “What’s your Superpower 5K Walk/Run & Kids Fun Run” on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College. The fundraising event will feature a traditional 5K race for runners of all ages, as well as a children’s run and a virtual run for those unable to join the race in person. LINK: Superpower 5K Race
Feb. 19: Watch some great hockey and help provide home improvements for those in need by purchasing Florida Everblades tickets for the Lee BIA Builders Care Fundraiser Night at Hertz Arena. For every ticket purchased online, $5 will be donated to Lee BIA Builders Care. LINK: Fundraiser Night
Feb. 20: Help support education by participating in Twins & Pinz Bowling for Education, a fundraising event for the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation. Proceeds help provide grants to educators and educational institutions, support educational programs, and present seminars and workshops geared toward the business community. Feb. 22: The Boys & Girls Club of Collier County will host its 10th annual Youth of the Year celebration to recognize student members who exemplify the virtues of good character, academic excellence, community service and strong leadership.
