Event Description: Shop small and kickstart the summer at Slipaway’s Summer Social Sip & Shop. This mini market pop-up features a curated lineup of local artisan vendors with handmade crafts, fashion, jewelry, baked goods and unique products right by the water. Slipaway is a one-of-a-kind waterfront destination for family friendly outdoor fun and entertainment that features 10 on-site food trucks, a full-service bar, shaded seating options, 30 boat slips, a fuel dock, Gift Store, unobstructed views of the Caloosahatchee River and more.

Aug. 1
The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are hosting County Fair Night inside Hammond Stadium at the Lee Health Sports Complex. Fans can enjoy food specials, carnival games on the concourse, a dunk tank and other themed in-game events, capped by a special postgame fireworks show. The first 500 fans will receive a Mussels trucker hat. It’s also Bark in the Park, so four-legged family members can come, too.

Aug. 1
Southwest Florida children in foster care and those with an active dependency court cases are invited to A.N.A.’s Friends’ Back to School Bash, an annual event supported by Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation. Children will enjoy free bowling, pizza and arcade games at HeadPinz, and bring home gift cards to purchase school supplies and clothing for the new school year. Registration is required.

Aug. 3
Join Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina for “Makers Monday: Burrowing Owl Watercolor Paint and Sip,” a two-hour step-by-step watercolor lesson with local artist John Johnson II. A portion of ticket sales benefit the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife.

Get ready for a day of BINGO, laughs and a little friendly competition – all for a great cause. Join NAMI Collier for five exciting bingo games, plus a table decorating contest where guests purchase a table and dress it up to match the theme. Enjoy light refreshments, cheer on your fellow players and complete prizes for both bingo winners and the best-decorated tables. Best of all, every dollar raised supports NAMI Collier’s no-cost programs for individuals and families in our community.

Shuffle up and deal for a great cause at the Texas Hold ’Em Poker Tournament at Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina. Whether you’re a seasoned poker player or just looking for a fun night out, this event combines friendly competition, great food, cold drinks and community giving, with proceeds benefiting Pop Warner Cheer & Dance.

Sunshine Ace Hardware and Crowder Bros. Ace Hardware are hosting a three-day Miracle Bucket Sale to benefit Children’s Miracle Network. Customers who donate $5 or more receive a special five-gallon bucket and 20% off nearly everything they can fit inside, with proceeds supporting Golisano Children’s Hospital and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.

Aug. 7 and 14
Wonder Gardens is raising a glass for wildlife with Wonder on Tap, a collaborative brewery fundraiser benefiting the nonprofit. The first event will take place Friday, Aug. 7, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Ankrolab Brewing in Naples, and the second on Friday, Aug. 14, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Chubby Mermaid Brewing Co. in Bonita Springs.

Aug. 11
The School District of Lee County – the region’s largest public school system and one of the 10 largest in Florida – opens the 2026-27 school year on Aug. 11. Parents are encouraged to attend open houses during the week prior to the first day. Community members are advised to be patient and exercise caution with additional traffic on area roadways.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County are accepting registrations for its After-school Programs, which begin Aug. 11 and offer project-based learning opportunities, homework assistance, character development, recreation and more. Monthly fees are just $79, and some children and teens can attend programs at no cost depending on where they live or attend school.

Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach will host its monthly wine dinner at JWB Grill at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 13. Featuring Daou Vineyards & Winery, guests will enjoy a four-course dinner paired with Daou Vineyards’ acclaimed wines; the wine dinner costs $145 per person.

The Lee County Bar Association’s annual State of the Florida Bar luncheon features a special presentation and discussion with President-Elect Paige Greenlee. The luncheon will be held at the Lee County Justice Center and costs $15 for LCBA members and $25 for non-members.
