The School District of Lee County is hosting its annual Teacher Recruitment Fair in mid-April to fill classroom positions for the upcoming school year.
The fair runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 14 at the Lee County Public Education Center, 2855 Colonial Blvd. in Fort Myers.
The School District of Lee County is currently hiring to fill a range of teaching positions for the 2018-19 school year, including elementary, middle and high school teachers, special education, science and mathematics teachers, and reading and language arts teachers.
Applicants must hold at least a bachelor’s degree and be certified to teach in Florida, or have a direct path to certification. All candidates must pre-register online by April 6 at www.leeschools.net/teacher-recruitment-fair. Eligible applicants will receive a formal invitation by email no later than April 10.
Interviews will be conducted during the Teacher Recruitment Fair, so attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of an updated resumé. Hiring managers will only be screening candidates for full-time teaching positions, not support staff or administration positions.
“Every public school in Lee County will have at least one representative present at the Teacher Recruitment Fair, so we encourage applicants to conduct some general research prior to the event,” said Chief Human Resource Officer Angela Pruitt. “It’s best to know in advance what are your preferred schools, disciplines and locations so you can maximize your time at the fair.”
Career opportunities are updated regularly on the District’s website; a complete listing can be found at www.leeschools.net/careers.
The School District of Lee County offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation plan for its employees, and provides teachers with access to support and resources that promote success. The starting compensation package of $52,984 encompasses salary, medical coverage and life insurance, pension and investment plan contributions, and social security and Medicare employer contributions. Additional benefits and earning opportunities are also available via advanced degree supplements, summer school, athletic coaching and more. Upon hire, a personal benefits selection process will be made available to eligible employees.
