The School District of Lee County coming to Puerto Rico May 20-21

The School District of Lee County is coming to Puerto Rico to speak with prospective educators during a series of hiring events offered May 20-21.

The events will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21 at the San Juan Marriott Resort, 1309 Ashford Ave. in San Juan. Certified teachers seeking full-time teaching employment for the 2019-20 academic year will have an opportunity to meet with District representatives via pre-scheduled interviews. Interested applicants can pre-register online by Thursday, May 16 to be considered for interviews.

Headquartered in Fort Myers, Florida, The School District of Lee County is among the largest school districts in the state and nation with a growing enrollment of more than 96,000 students and 120 schools. The District anticipates hiring several hundred new teachers for the 2019-20 academic year, filling teaching positions at the elementary, middle and high school levels, with a focus on hiring special education, elementary education, English, science and mathematics instructors. Candidates must be certified.

The School District of Lee County’s efforts to put “The Right Talent in the Right Place” means that new teachers will receive the support and necessary resources that will enable them to succeed upon entering the field of education. The District offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation plan for its employees, and the starting compensation package of $52,984 for teachers encompasses salary, medical coverage and life insurance, pension and investment plan contributions, and social security and Medicare employer contributions. A relocation bonus may be available to assist with moving to the area.
