It was a special day for former campers of Trailways Camps as they gathered to celebrate each other. The 9th Annual “I AM SPECIAL” Camper Reunion took place on Saturday, April 13. The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company was an event sponsor and company volunteers hosted a table of campers and their caregivers.
The event brings together former campers to celebrate their birthdays and enjoy games, awards, music and dancing hosted by Trailways Camps.
Trailways Camps was started by Sharon and Jerry Miller to honor their sons, Robert and Ben, who were born with a rare disease and severe disabilities. Trailways Camps enables adults with special needs, and those who care for them, to grow their social, emotional and spiritual relationships.
“We are honored to be able to support Trailways Camps and this magnificent event,” said The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company Founder and Chairman S. Albert D. Hanser. “We believe in the power of community and the importance of creating opportunities for everyone to thrive. We are proud to stand alongside Trailways Camps in its efforts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.”
