The Preserve has launched “Coffee for a Cause,” an all-new fundraising opportunity that gives residents of the senior living community an opportunity to support a different local nonprofit or an organization they feel drawn to each month.
With the goal of raising awareness and donations for local charities, the events will take place on the third Wednesday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. in the main lobby of The Preserve, a skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care community in Fort Myers. Each monthly fundraiser will be hosted by residents and staff of The Preserve and sponsored by a community partner. Residents, staff, family members, visits and community partners are all welcome to attend the event to support the cause.
“It’s very fulfilling to have our residents engaged with the outside community,” said Ryan Keller, executive director of The Preserve. “They have the chance to improve Southwest Florida within the four walls of The Preserve.”
The first “Coffee for a Cause” event took place on Sept. 20. The fundraiser was sponsored by Comfort Keepers Home Care in Fort Myers and all proceeds were donated to South Fort Myers High School’s band. Several students from the band program were in attendance.
Heart, Body, and Mind Home Care is confirmed to be a future sponsor of the fundraiser. Potential future causes that will be supported by the fundraiser include CAMEO of Lee County, The Dubin Center, Dr. Piper Center for Social Services, Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida and Tommy Bohanon Foundation.
Each “Coffee for a Cause” event will be held at The Preserve, located at 14750 Hope Center Loop in Fort Myers.
