The Joy in Childhood Foundation Awards $8,000 in Grants in Southwest Florida in Celebration of Giving Tuesday

The Joy in Childhood Foundation, an independent organization powered by Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins, is celebrating #GivingTuesday in a big way. Today, the Foundation announced it has awarded a total of $2 million in funding to 150 organizations nationwide, including Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida and Lee Health Foundation in Southwest Florida as part of an effort to bring the simple joys of childhood to kids battling hunger or illness.

When children face health and hunger issues, it robs them of the simple joys of childhood. The Joy in Childhood Foundation’s mission is to help kids feel like kids, even on their most difficult days. The grants given in honor of #GivingTuesday align with this mission and have a history of making a lasting impact on kids’ lives.

“We’re excited to celebrate Giving Tuesday with nonprofit organizations in communities like Southwest Florida that share our commitment to bring joy to children who are battling hunger or illness,” said Karen Raskopf, Co-Chair of the Joy in Childhood Foundation. “We know how critical the services provided by these organizations are to kids in Southwest Florida, which is why we’re so proud to support their work.”

Additionally, beginning today through Dec. 24, guests who purchase a Dunkin’ gift card online will also have the opportunity to support kids battling hunger or illness when they make a donation to the Joy in Childhood Foundation through a donate button at checkout. All donations will support the Joy in Childhood Foundation’s efforts to bring joy to children and their families.
