Since the early 1990s, the generous community of The Forest Country Club has supported pediatric healthcare at Lee Health through donations from its members, as well as hosting the Boston Red Sox Celebrity Classic event for the last 29 years.
Inspired by its members’ goal to raise $1 million for Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, The Forest Country Club has donated $75,000.
“The Forest Country Club has been a proud partner of Lee Health and the Golisano Children’s Hospital for many years,” said Matt Gaudet, general manager of The Forest Country Club. “Our organization sees great value in supporting the causes of our local healthcare system. When areas impacting the health of our area’s youth are identified, our members will continue to answer the call to action and make these programs, such as pediatric neurosurgery, a reality.”
The $75,000 donation puts the community more than halfway to reaching its $1 million goal. Members have decided the donations raised will support Golisano Children’s Hospital’s pediatric neurosurgery program and ensure Southwest Florida families have access to the quality services they need close to home.
The Pediatric Neurosurgery Program at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida includes recruiting world-class pediatric neurosurgeon(s) to our region in collaboration with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, equipping operating suites and patient care units with state-of-the-art pediatric neurosurgical equipment, as well as providing critical training and simulations to the clinical team.
