The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks announced today that tickets are nearly sold out for the annual Big Cypress Celebration, returning Feb. 28, 2026, at Big Cypress National Preserve. The event is designed to connect supporters with the landscapes, wildlife and educational programs their philanthropy makes possible.
“With tickets running low, we’re encouraging supporters to grab their spots now,” said Lulu Vilas, CEO of The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks. “Every step on these guided hikes helps fund real‑world conservation, hands‑on student learning and expanded access to Florida’s national parks.”
This adventure‑driven day in Big Cypress will invite guests to explore the preserve through guided hikes offered every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with two hike options: a 90‑minute immersive walk and a 30‑minute introductory walk.
In addition, this year’s celebration will also feature live music by Gator Nate, bringing a uniquely Florida soundtrack to the day’s activities, along with onsite food and beverages from Juanchitos Grill, joining the event as the featured food truck.
“Big Cypress Celebration is an incredible opportunity to get out of the house, and into the preserve to experience the wilderness that’s literally in our own backyard,” said Peter Wasmer, vice chair of the board of The Alliance and Big Cypress Celebration event chair. “A core part of The Alliance’s mission is to educate, inspire and create access to our wild places, and this event brings that mission to life in a very real way. Meet our National Park rangers, Miccosukee tribal representative, the FGCU Water School; enjoy an artist-led painting activity with Dave Lavernia, along with delicious food from Juanchitos and live music by Gator Nate.”
Proceeds directly support The Alliance’s wide‑ranging efforts to fund education, exploration and conservation across Florida’s four national parks.
A limited camping option is available for attendees who want to extend their time in the preserve.
To ensure a safe and comfortable experience, attendees should prepare with the following clothing and equipment guidelines:
