Like many women, Teri Hansen wanted to make her family a priority without sacrificing her career aspirations. She founded Priority Marketing in 1992 and ran the company from home until her daughter reached school age. Fast-forward 29 years and Teri leads the region’s largest full-service marketing, advertising, public relations, web development, and digital marketing agency with more than 40 full-time employees.
In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, which is celebrated every March, Teri was asked to participate in an inspiring, hourlong panel discussion at Gulf Coast Village. She was joined on stage by three distinguished women: Gloria Tate, Cheryl Leftwich and Margaret Djerf.
During the discussion, Teri’s words of wisdom included these six points:
- Draw inspiration from what’s around you
- Accept guidance from mentors
- Live one day at a time
- Be willing to help others
- Identify and overcome challenges
- Don’t be afraid to change direction
