Sunshine Ace Hardware raised $59,402 during its 2023 Holiday Round Up, an eight-week fundraising initiative that supports pediatric health care through Children’s Miracle Network.
From Nov. 1 through Dec. 24, customers at any Sunshine Ace Hardware store in Collier, Lee, Charlotte and Pinellas counties, as well as Crowder Bros. Ace Hardware stores in Manatee County, could round up their purchases at the cash register or choose a specific dollar amount to donate to Children’s Miracle Network.
“The power of our collective generosity is beyond belief,” said Sunshine Ace Hardware President Michael Wynn. “It may have just been a dime or quarter to our customers, but for children battling cancer or other diseases, it provided life-saving treatments and medical services their families might not have been able to afford.”
Donations to Children’s Miracle Network help cover costs of patient services for children and families, charitable care for patients lacking sufficient funds or insurance, and education programs for patients, families and the community. Donations also allow hospitals to purchase life-saving equipment and provide advancement services for innovative programs and projects.
Money raised at Sunshine Ace stores in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties, which amounted to $37,517, support Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, while $21,885 in donations made at stores in Pinellas and Manatee counties support Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.
Since declaring Children’s Miracle Network as its primary charitable partner four years ago, Sunshine Ace Hardware has raised $353,963 through a series of fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
