Sunshine Ace Hardware in Largo is hosting a three-day event from Dec. 3-5 to celebrate shopping, small businesses and community support.
The free event features special promotions and opportunities to support Children’s Miracle Network and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. Attendees also can enjoy street fare from 5 Buck Truck, a food truck based in Pinellas County. Sunshine Ace will be unveiling a new interior redesign for its 42,000-square-foot Largo store that offers an exceptional shopping experience with a more refined, modern look.
“The Largo store still carries an expansive selection of power tools, grills, paint and fishing equipment, but we’re breaking the mold of a traditional hardware store to improve the overall shopping experience,” said Michael Wynn, president of Sunshine Ace Hardware. “We envision the new look will appeal to contractors and businesses that participate in our robust B2B program in addition to DIYers, artisans and homeowners who need supplies or parts to complete a household project.”
A highlight of the redesign is an expanded Sunshine gift shop featuring a vast selection of designer handbags, jewelry, totes, tableware, scented candles, picture frames, artwork, tchotchkes, throw pillows, windchimes, handwoven baskets, lamps, pottery, keychains novelty items, perfumes and colognes, bath soaps, lotion and skin care products. Fans of the Florida lifestyle will find pastel colors, floral prints, beach-themed artwork, seashell chimes and decorative items reflecting the Sunshine State’s wildlife, like flamingos, pelicans and dolphins.
Since its founding in 1958, Sunshine Ace has strived to support local businesses and charitable causes. The gift shop highlights products from several Florida-based brands, and the redesign celebration event features 5 Buck Truck, a Gulfport food truck that serves quick, affordable meals, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 3. Representatives from Children’s Miracle Network and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital will be at the event. Children’s Miracle Network is Sunshine Ace’s primary charity partner.
The celebration event will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3 through Sunday, Dec. 5 at Sunshine Ace Hardware, 1015 West Bay Drive in Largo.
