Fort Myers Brewing Company releases first craft spiked seltzers in local market
Fort Myers Brewing Company debuts the area’s first line of locally crafted spiked seltzer beverages at the seventh annual Summerfest, a four-day summer beer bash featuring live bands, food trucks and over 50 specialty beers.
Cool, refreshing and freshly brewed spiked seltzer will be on tap throughout the Summerfest weekend, Thursday, June 20 through Sunday, June 23. “Spiked Seltzer Sunday” will feature a half-dozen flavors, including black cherry, pineapple, orange, watermelon and mojito, as well as two new flavors, mango and peach. The new spiked seltzer is brewed with grain, water, yeast and natural flavors, fermented just like Fort Myers Brewing’s other popular craft brews. The spiked beverage contains 5.0% alcohol with 90 calories, 0 carbs and 0 sugar per 12-ounce pour.
“Crafting the perfect spiked seltzer recipe is a project that has been two years in the making, and Summerfest’s Spiked Seltzer Sunday gives us a chance to show off the fruits of our labor,” said Jen Whyte, who co-founded Fort Myers Brewing with her husband, Rob Whyte. “We’ve tested a series of great flavors in the tap room, while our Florida-inspired orange seltzer has made its way to a number of local bars and restaurants. Now, we’re bringing them all together along with two new flavors just for Summerfest, so it’s a great time get a taste.”
In addition to Spiked Seltzer Sunday, the party of the summer will also feature brew-tastic family- and pet-friendly festivities, including food truck rallies, a luau party with a pig roast, daily live music, and a hangover party. And of course, beer, beer and more beer.
Throughout the weekend, a wide selection of ales, stouts and lagers will be on tap in addition to 14 of Southwest Florida’s popular food trucks, including Mobstah Lobstah, Trippin’ On Pizza, and The Nosh Truck, as well as sweet treats from Artisan Gelato by Norman Love and Love Boat Ice Cream. Guests can groove to six live performers, including Soulixer, Artikal Sound System, Bobby James, Wilder Sons, Ben Allen Band and North Island Duo.
Festivities will be held at Fort Myers Brewing Company, 12811 Commerce Lakes Drive, Suite 28, in Fort Myers.
