Shangri-La Springs’ organic farm-to-table restaurant Harvest & Wisdom hosts nostalgic dinner New Year’s Eve

Shangri-La Springs, a historic property in downtown Bonita Springs plans a 1920s-inspired multi-course dinner New Year’s Eve at Harvest & Wisdom, the property’s farm-to-table restaurant specializing in fresh, organic cuisine.

The five-course menu — inspired by a menu created for Calvin Coolidge for New Year’s Eve in 1924 — includes a choice of entrée and complimentary glass of Champagne. In addition to the full wine list, Harvest & Wisdom’s sommelier has selected wines from the restaurant’s cellar to pair perfectly with the 1920s era menu. Cost is $125 per person plus gratuity, tax is included.

“We were inspired by the Golden Age in creating this special menu, with elegant traditional dishes given our signature twist with fresh ingredients from our organic garden,” said Chef Allen Fisher, who created the menu with Chef de Cuisine David Robbins. “Diners can expect a special touches and exquisite flavors.”

Michelin-starred Executive Chef Allen Fisher, a competitor on Food Network’s Chopped, brings more than 18 years of professional cooking and kitchen management experience including with famed chef Daniel Boulud in New York, and an extensive background of developing new concepts using local and organic products.

Chef de Cuisine David Robbins has more than 15 years of experience including at acclaimed farm-to-table concept Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Tarrytown, New York.

The New Year’s Eve menu will start with a glass of Champagne and caviar, followed by consommé Olga and then a Waldorf salad. Guests can have their choice of main entrée, choosing among filet with foie gras and truffle with potato Anna, roast squab served with cress, lamb and sauce chasseur, aiguillette of bass with asparagus gratin, or courgette marrow farci. A selection of petit fours for the table will conclude the exquisite dining experience.

Also at Shangri-La Springs New Year’s Eve from 5 to 10 p.m. is A Lemurian Odyssey: Gateway to 2020, featuring the five-course dinner at Harvest & Wisdom, followed by transformational experiences facilitated by The Oracle in the Octagon beginning at 7 p.m. Experiences include powerful clearing, a Hawaiian ritual of forgiveness and a powerful activation led by Aurora Juliana Ariel, a pioneering doctor, scientist, author, musician, entrepreneur, producer, mystic and healer with a doctorate in psychology, more than 38 certificates and degrees in advanced healing modalities and is a Kahuna.
