Shangri-La Springs hosts Somerston Estate & Priest Ranch Wine Dinner

Shangri-La Springs, a historic property in downtown Bonita Springs specializing in organic, farm-to-table cuisine, will host a Somerston Estate & Priest Ranch Wine Dinner on Monday, April 8 at 6 p.m. The ticketed event includes a 3-course dinner with six wine pairings and a sneak peek at the property’s farm-to-table restaurant Harvest & Wisdom, set to open soon.

During the event, guests will have the opportunity enjoy a decadent organic dinner featuring fresh-from-the-garden produce and farm pastured protein from nearby Circle C Farm. Michelin-Starred Executive Chef Allen Fisher, competitor on Food Network’s Chopped, brings more than 18 years of professional cooking and kitchen management experience and an extensive background of developing new concepts using local and organic products to his role as executive chef and food and beverage director.

“Partnering with Somerston Estate for this unique dinner is natural for the vision for dining at Shangri-La Springs,” said Chef Allen Fisher, who was hired late last year to help reinvent the historic property’s organic restaurant. “Somerston’s focus on bringing out the unique characteristics of each grape mirrors Shangri-La Springs’ plan to created unique dishes from ingredients fresh-picked from our on-site garden.”

Menu highlights include: welcome appetizers, Pompano Crudo with yuzu and jalapeno, Circle C dry-aged duck with vanilla, five spice and black plum sautéed kale, and Circle C dry-aged reverse-seared lamb chops with black garlic and pan-roasted organic radish. Wine pairings and insight will be provided by Craig Becker, Co-founder, General Manager & Director of Winemaking for Somerston Estate.

The event includes a 3-course dinner and 6 wine pairings for $90. To purchase tickets, visit http://shangrilasprings.com/tickets. Seating is limited to 40 guests. Advance ticket purchase is required.

About Somerston Estate & Priest Ranch

Somerston is a 1,615 acre winery estate in the eastern Vaca Mountains of Napa Valley. Established in 2007 by Proprietor Allan Chapman and Winegrower Craig Becker, the property is managed with the singular vision of becoming one of Napa Valley’s greatest estates. The estate has 230 acres of sustainably-farmed vineyards with 154 unique vineyard blocks, from which two distinct wine brands are produced.

Somerston wines showcase the highest quality single block wines on the property.  With each vintage, the best sites are selected to produce distinctive block-designate wines. These limited production wines are appropriately structured and balanced, with significant aging potential.

Priest Ranch wines are a blend of fruit from multiple blocks on the Estate, designed to reveal the diversity of the property’s elevations, exposures, soils and microclimates. These wines are balanced and complex, and yet approachable in their youth.
