Shangri-La Springs awarded Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association’s Seal of Commitment for safety and sanitation

Shangri-La Springs was the first property in Lee County and one of the first 10 in the state to be awarded the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA) Seal of Commitment, which acknowledges enhanced sanitation standards designated by FRLA to ensure the safety of guests and employees. FRLA’s Seal of Commitment program began July 1.

In a post-COVID-19 atmosphere, FRLA’s goal when guests see an FRLA Seal of Commitment on the door is to feel confident that the business is sanitary and safe and that staff are well trained. The Seal of Commitment is for the entire property, including The Spa at Shangri-La Springs, the on-site restaurant, Harvest & Wisdom, and the organic garden.

“FRLA is proud to designate Shangri-La Springs with our Seal of Commitment for their dedication to sanitation excellence,” said Carol Dover, president and CEO of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association. “Through this achievement, they are prioritizing the safety and health of their employees and guests. We applaud them for their extraordinary efforts to go above and beyond to ensure cleanliness and safety while building consumer confidence.”

To earn the Seal of Commitment, Shangri-La Springs managers have a current food manager certifications, all restaurant employees have a current Florida food handler certificates, and all employees have completed the FRLA COVID-19 Sanitation & Safety Course in addition to specific intensive safety and sanitation standards.

“We have dedicated time and invested resources to ensure our operations, staff and guests remain safe and healthy,” said Lee Bellamy, general manager of Shangri-La Springs. “As a property focused on organic wellness, the well-being of our guests is always our priority.”
