Sanibel and Captiva community aces the inaugural United Way Golf Tournament

The inaugural Sanibel Captiva United Way Golf Tournament was an ace. The event, held earlier this year, collected $15,000 to benefit United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades. The funds go toward the Sanibel and Captiva community’s goal to raise $750,000 in the 2024 – 2025 United Way campaign. The group has raised over $650,000 in each of the past three years.

The United Way campaign raises money that stays in the local community to help support the human service network of 90 partner agencies and more than 260 programs.

United Way Partner Agencies such as F.I.S.H. of SanCap, Beacon of Hope, Blessings in a Backpack, Cancer Alliance Network, Family Initiative, Community Cooperative, Abuse Counseling and Treatment, and Children’s Advocacy Center serve a diverse range of needs in the community.

About 50 golfers took part in the tournament held at the Sanibel Island Golf Club. Bill Fellows was the event chair.

Sponsors for the event included Bank of the Islands, McCallion & McCallion Realty, Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts, Sanibel Island Golf Club, The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company, and Uhler Vertich White Advisors.
