Pure Florida offers kids summer science cruises in Naples, Fort Myers, Cape Coral

In celebration of the summer season, Pure Florida is offering educational science cruises on select dates throughout the summer months of June and July, departing from Pure Florida’s Naples and Fort Myers locations, as well as Four Freedoms Park in Cape Coral.

Each Pure Florida summer cruise option gives children and their families the opportunity to enjoy 1.5-hour cruises featuring the opportunity for children to learn about the Southwest Florida environment and to observe the variety of wildlife present on the waters. While Pure Florida cannot guarantee animal sightings in the wild, the captain will alert passengers to wildlife such as dolphins, eagles, manatee, native birds and more.

Guests cruising from Pure Florida’s Naples location will travel along the Gordon River aboard the M/V Double Sunshine with Glen Beitmen of “Super Science & Amazing Art.” All ages will enjoy Beitmen’s humor and hands-on science experiments and demonstrations that entertain and educate children about the properties of water, environmental science and the marine wildlife that live in and around Southwest Florida’s waterways. Cruises will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on June 10, June 24, July 15 and July 29. Kids can cruise free in Naples when accompanied by a full paid adult, as part of Pure Florida’s Kids Cruise Free program. Admission is $37.50 for adults and $18.75 for additional children. Reservations are required by calling 239-263-4949 or visiting www.PureFL.com.

Guests visiting Pure Florida’s Fort Myers location will cruise along the Caloosahatchee River aboard the M/V Edison Explorer with Marina Hurt of Pure Florida’s Pure Education team. Children will collect water and perform water quality experiments to test the levels of nitrates, phosphates, ammonia, pH and salinity. The Marine Science Kids Cruise is an excellent way for children passionate about science to get a hands-on experience right in their environment. The cruise will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on June 10. Kids can cruise free in Fort Myers when accompanied by a full paid adult, as part of Pure Florida’s Kids Cruise Free program.
