Priority Marketing tipped the scales at 145.5 pounds during Community Cooperative’s weigh-in event concluding the nonprofit’s Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive.
Community Cooperative asked local businesses to donate peanut butter and jelly, which are among the organization’s most-requested items because they’re kid-friendly, shelf-stable and protein-rich. The annual collection also honors Community Cooperative’s late founder Sam Galloway Jr., who began the Soup Kitchen 37 years ago by handing out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches after church in downtown Fort Myers.
Community Cooperative is continuing to collect donations that will help replenish pantries in the coming months. For more information, please visit CommunityCooperative.com.
