Priority Marketing lends expertise to PR professionals in SWFL

SWFL Media Breakfast

Priority Marketing’s fingerprints were visible across all aspects of the 2024 Media Breakfast: Going for Gold, an educational seminar hosted by the Florida Public Relations Association, Southwest Florida Chapter.

Held July 18 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Myers Estero, the Media Breakfast attracted dozens of public relations professionals and local business owners seeking knowledge about the media landscape. Discussions highlighted valuable insights and tips for effectively pitching, engaging and building relationships with media of all levels. A few of those tips include:

  • Ensure story pitches have a human element, including “real” people that media can interview.
  • Consider multiple formats to tell a story, including print, television and radio.
  • Always think about visual elements like photos, videos and graphics that help illustrate a story.
  • Follow up with reporters after interviews to thank journalists and/or provide clarification if needed.
  • Pitch stories early in the day – before reporters are already working on other stories.

Behind the scenes, Emily Golden, APR (assistant director of public relations) and Nicki McTeague (director of client services) tag teamed as event co-chairs. Teri Hansen, APR (president and chief creative officer) was moderator. Alan Zagier (public relations manager) was a panelist. Priority Marketing’s participation didn’t end there, either. In the audience were Josh Milton (public relations manager) and Rachel Anderson (public relations specialist). Finally, the event’s generous sponsor – Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach – also happens to be one of the firm’s distinguished clients.

Our team was honored to play such a significant role in an event that each year educates, enlightens and informs fellow PR professionals!
