Post-Hurricane Ian – Businesses Hiring in SWFL

Following the devastation of Hurricane Ian, we know that many have lost so much, including their place of employment. With that in mind, there are many businesses who are currently hiring and need employees in varying fields and positions.  

Below are local businesses that are hiring for immediate employment. 

Better Together

  • Summary – Better Together, a nonprofit dedicated to families and children, is working with local employers to find workers to assist with damage.
    • The nonprofit will host a community job fair on Thursday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Christ Community Church.
    • Participating employers include Chicken Salad Chick, Creative Architectural Resin Products, Elite DNA Behavioral Health, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Home Instead, Jiffy Lube, Norman Love Confections, RAMS, Raymond Building Supply, Reece Windows & Doors, The School District of Lee County, Secure Staffing and Storm Smart. Additional services will be available onsite:
      • Food trucks will be serving food onsite and Christ Community is donating the first $2,000 worth of meals for attendees.
      • Goodwill will have its Mobile Job-Link bus onsite offering assistance with resumes and providing FEMA sign up assistance.
      • CareerSource is providing help with disaster unemployment and collecting applications for Dislocated Worker Grant positions.
      • Dress for Success is offering job clothing for women.
      • AMIkids is providing support through its Workforce Pathways Program. The nonprofit serves middle and high school students who are currently or likely to be assigned to alternative school settings and require focused academic and behavioral interventions.
