Perfectly Paired: Wine and Food Tasting Series continues in Captiva

The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company is title sponsor of signature event

The Perfectly Paired Educational Wine and Food Tasting Series, hosted by the Captiva Civic Association and sponsored by The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company, is wrapping up its 2023-24 season with two final programs in February and March.

The Wine and Food Tasting Series is a robust community program that features wines of various years, blends, flavors, profiles and more. Each session features experts discussing their craft. Tastings are led by Calli Johnson, wine steward for Bailey’s General Store and The Island Store, with food paired by Chef Karl Hamme.

The final two programs of the Wine and Food Tasting Series are:

  • Monday, Feb. 19: It’s Not a Blind Tasting (wine labels will be a mystery and attendees will instead use their palate as a guide)
  • Monday, March 25: She’s Worth It (guests will sample reds and whites showcasing the affordability of excellence)

Each program in the series runs from 5-7 p.m. at the Captiva Civic Center, 11550 Chapin Lane in Captiva. Tickets are required for each program and can be purchased at ccacaptiva.org/events-classes-meetings.

“We are excited to support the Captiva Civic Association’s wine tasting series,” said The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company Founder and Chairman S. Albert D. Hanser. “The shared interest of fine wine and good food brings neighbors together and strengthens the fabric of our local communities.”
