Pelican’s Nest Golf Club is pleased to announce that its golf course and Clubhouse facilities have reopened following Hurricane Irma.
Hurricane Irma resulted in uprooted trees, disturbed bunkers, damaged cart paths and flooding throughout the courses at Pelican’s Nest Golf Club, which the golf course maintenance staff, golf staff and cart staff have been working diligently to clear. The front nine holes of the Hurricane golf course were reopened to golfers on Sept. 17, with first tee time at 7:56 a.m. The range has also been reopened for golfers to warm up prior to teeing off. The back nine holes remain under repair following the storm, anticipated to reopen within the next week. Pelican’s Nest Golf Club’s Gator golf course was previously closed for regularly scheduled maintenance, and will reopen early- to mid-October.
The Clubhouse has reopened with a temporarily limited menu. On Thursday, Sept. 21, lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Pasta Night will be served for dinner until 5 p.m. On Friday, Sept. 22, the Clubhouse will resume its normal hours of operation, and its full menu will be available. The Clubhouse is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with lunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
“While there was a great amount of damage to trees around the Clubhouse and golf course, our team pitched in to clear and repair the damages, going above and beyond to help quicken our recovery process and reopen the course for our members,” said David Gillespie, general manager for Pelican’s Nest Golf Club. “We are thankful for the support of our team and members as we continue to recover from Irma’s impact and look forward to getting our members back on the greens.”
