Pace Center for Girls, Lee County will kick off its 11th annual Love That Dress! collection series with a celebration of fashion and giving on April 11.
Love That Dress! is an annual campaign soliciting donations of new and gently loved dresses, handbags, shoes and accessories. A series of social events helps build inventory, and the campaign culminates with what’s described as “the ultimate feel-good shopping spree” in which supporters enjoy an evening of shopping, music, cocktails and a silent auction.
The kickoff event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 at Fort Myers INFINITI, 14990 S. Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers, and features a full cash bar, appetizers and a special performance from the girls and young women of Pace. There is no cost to attend, but guests who bring a donation will be entered into a prize drawing and have an opportunity to purchase discounted tickets for this fall’s Love That Dress! event. Additional raffle baskets are available and Pace girls will be selling pieces from their exclusive collection of artwork.
Guests at the kickoff also can be among the first to purchase tickets for a chance to win a 24-month lease on a new 2019 INFINITI QX50 SUV. Only 150 tickets will be sold, and the winner will be drawn at Love That Dress! on Aug. 21.
Sponsors for the kickoff event include Fort Myers INFINITI, Naples Flatbread and Boost Creative.
Proceeds from Love That Dress! events support Pace Center for Girls’ programs and services, which assist girls ages 11 to 18 who have multiple risk factors impacting their academic achievement, including family income, substance abuse, domestic violence, foster home placement, neglect, grief, incarceration of a family member and physical, emotional or sexual abuse.
In 2018, more than 450 fashionistas and community supporters attended the 10th annual Love That Dress! fundraiser in August, helping raise more than $157,000 to support Pace Center for Girls, Lee County.
