Nova Classical STEM Academy, opening in August 2026 as the first school in the world to integrate a Classical education model with STEM-enriched, project-based learning, will host its second in-person open house on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 1 to 3 p.m. at its Fort Myers campus, located at 7101 Banway Road.
The upcoming event follows Nova’s first in-person open house, which drew approximately 150 families, reflecting strong community interest in the school’s innovative Classical-STEM approach.
Families attending the Jan. 31 open house will have the opportunity to meet the Nova team and learn how the school blends the timeless principles of Classical education with advanced STEM integration to prepare students to think clearly, live with purpose and lead with integrity.
“Nova Classical STEM Academy was created to meet the needs of today’s students while preserving the wisdom of Classical learning,” said Dr. Yalcin Akin, president of Discovery Science Schools. “By integrating rigorous academics, hands-on STEM exploration and a strong foundation of character, Nova will inspire students to inquire deeply, create boldly and contribute meaningfully to their communities. We are excited to continue welcoming families and sharing how Nova is redefining what a modern, purpose-driven education can be.”
During the open house, families will learn what sets Nova apart — from full-time gifted and accelerated education to its emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning. Attendees will hear about signature elements of the Classical-STEM model, including Latin instruction; academic competitions in math, science and engineering; and a wide range of arts, athletics and academic clubs. Nova’s approach combines rigorous academics with character education to support the whole child.
In addition to the in-person event, Nova Classical STEM Academy will host a virtual open house on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 6 to 7:15 p.m., providing families another opportunity to learn about the school’s mission, curriculum and enrollment process from the comfort of home.
Nova Classical STEM Academy will open as a tuition-free public charter school serving grades K–7, with plans to expand annually to grades K–12. Guests will also meet representatives from Discovery Science Schools, Nova’s experienced management team with more than 17 years of success leading high-performing, STEM-focused charter schools across Florida.
Enrollment information will be available during both open house events. Families may apply online at NovaClassical.net.
