New FGCU men’s basketball coach to throw out first pitch on FGCU Night for the Fort Myers Miracle

Michael Fly, the new head coach for the men’s basketball team at Florida Gulf Coast University, will throw out the first pitch prior to Thursday night’s Fort Myers Miracle game.

Thursday, April 12 is FGCU Night at Hammond Stadium, 14100 Six Mile Cypress Parkway in Fort Myers. Students are encouraged to wear their school colors, and admission is just $5 with a valid student ID. The Miracle will be wearing Dunk City-themed jerseys that will be auctioned during the game, with proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club. Thursday also is Thirsty Thursday, when fans can enjoy 12-ounce beers for $2, live music and a postgame party at Twin Peaks, all presented by Budweiser, Cat Country 107.1 and Twin Peaks.

On April 5, FGCU named Fly as head coach after seven years as an assistant for the Eagles. He is the program’s fourth head coach and follows Joe Dooley, Andy Enfield and Dave Balza.

The Miracle face the Florida Fire Frogs on Thursday night. Game time is 7 p.m. Tickets start at $7.50 in advance or $9 on game day. For a complete schedule of games and promotions, visit MiracleBaseball.com or call 239-768-4210.
