Naples Soap Company supports Cape Coral student’s quest to end bullying

Olivia TraderNaples Soap Company is partnering with local student Olivia Trader to support her mission to prevent bullying. Trader, a 3rd grade student at Christa McAuliffe Charter Elementary School, has launched a six-week fundraising campaign, now through Oct. 28, to install a Buddy Bench at the school’s playground. A Buddy Bench is a simple way to eliminate loneliness and foster friendship on the playground by providing students a safe place to go when they are being bullied or feeling lonely, while also being used to alert teachers to bullying situations. Trader will be selling Naples Soap Company products to family, friends, classmates and neighbors in order raise $500 in funds. In addition to offering Trader a reduced price for the products for sale, Naples Soap Company has also agreed to a 50-percent match to the young student’s contributions.

Small for her age, Trader knows how it feels to be bullied and she has a desire to prevent others fromOlivia and Susan Trader being bullied, while also helping those who find themselves being bullied. In addition to spearheading the Buddy Bench fundraising efforts, Trader also recently launched her own organization called Be Sweet Not a Bully to spread kindness, raise awareness about bullying with the goal of stopping and preventing bullying. Trader is also part of the Students Against Bullying Encouraging Real Solutions (S.A.B.E.R.S.) Anti-Bullying Club at Christa McAuliffe Charter Elementary School, where she teaches fellow students the importance of not engaging in bullying and how to handle themselves when faced with a bullying situation.

“We couldn’t resist the opportunity to work with Olivia when she approached us with this special project,” said Deanna Renda, founder and CEO of Naples Soap Company. “Her tenacity and leadership on this is admirable, and Naples Soap Company is excited to support her efforts to make a difference within our community.”
