Countryside Golf & Country Club, which is currently undergoing a comprehensive clubhouse renovation, was recently recognized as one of the most financially sound clubs in the nation.
Club Benchmarking, the industry leader in financial benchmarking services, spent several months auditing 20 years of Countryside’s financials, analyzing the club’s financial strength, rate of growth, capital needs/sustainability, debit to equity ratio and much more.
“Countryside is one of the strongest clubs in the country, financially,” according to Dr. Jim Butler, CEO of Club Benchmarking. “Countryside ranks in our top five strongest clubs financially, out of 1,000 clubs. The ratings are a result of a strong capital engine, funding reserves, utilizing debt appropriately and investing in the facilities. Countryside keeps its assets up to date and has a strong balance sheet.”
As a result of this audit, Countryside’s Board unanimously approved a $750,000 investment to build four lighted pickleball courts beginning in the summer of 2025. Along with the courts additional parking will be added with a completion date of December 2025.
This project will wrap up a two-and-half-year $14.2 million renovation to Countryside, “Countryside 2.0,” that will add the following:
- Outdoor Pool Café & Bar: A new culinary destination will overlook the pool and golf course, offering seating for 108 people. A “grab-and-go” option will allow golfers to pick up quick items to eat without a break in the action.
- Lakeview Lounge: Expanded indoor and outdoor casual dining options will offer seating for 156 guests with a large oval bar as the focal point in a casual area with a vaulted ceiling.
- Main Dining Room and Four Seasons Room: Renovated fine dining spaces will expand indoor seating to accommodate 168 patrons.
Additional community enhancements include a redesigned clubhouse lobby, relocated 36-seat multipurpose room and relocation of the physical therapy area for enhanced privacy.
“This ranking is a true testament to our past and current Board of Directors and club leadership,” said Countryside General Manager and Chief Operating Officer Joe Smith. “I want to commend our Board and my leadership team for their continued work in making Countryside successful and strong now and for the future.”
