NAMI Collier County has received a $30,000 grant from the Women’s Foundation of Collier County. These funds will support NAMI Collier County’s mental health programming for seniors across the county.
NAMI Collier County will work with senior women with mental health struggles to decrease isolation, improve overall wellness, and serve basic needs such as ensuring that no senior will go unhoused. Thanks to this funding, the program coordinator will be able to carry out home visits, attend medical appointments with clients, and provide direct support to senior women experiencing or at risk of depression.
Beth Hatch, the CEO of NAMI Collier County, highlighted the importance of this funding: “The Women’s Foundation of Collier County has made it possible for us to continue expanding our reach and serve more of the senior women who may otherwise fall through the cracks.”
“Coming to the center each day is my reason to get up each morning, knowing that I’ll be around people who know how it feels [to struggle with mental health],” said one of the senior women who will be participating in the program.
The Women’s Foundation of Collier County awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process. Funding is made possible by donors who believe in the Women’s Foundation and its ability to identify and grant to the most pressing needs of women and girls in Collier County.
