Lehigh Acres Middle School to celebrate fine and performing arts at Prism Showcase on May 11

Lehigh Acres Middle School is hosting a Prism Showcase on May 11 to highlight the incredible work of students in its fine arts and performing arts program.

A Prism Showcase is a formal event that allows students in a variety of artistic disciplines to exhibit their work, including music, dance and art.

Lehigh Acres Middle is inviting community members and business supporters to join parents, siblings and family friends at the spring Prism Showcase, which begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 11 at Lehigh Acres Middle School, 104 Arthur Ave. in Lehigh Acres. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. A performance by band members kicks off the event, followed in order by theater, dance and chorus. Audience members will have an opportunity to browse student artwork at the Art Gallery Walk near the entrance.

Admission is $3 per person; children 4 and under are free. Audience members can purchase light concessions at the event. All proceeds support the fine arts and performing arts program at Lehigh Acres Middle.

The School District of Lee County was among 32 school systems in the United States to receive funding through the 2017 Magnet Schools Assistance Program. Federal funding helped establish Lehigh Acres Middle’s STEAM program, which integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics instruction into the curriculum.
