Funds to support local homeowners in need
Lee BIA Builders Care, the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA), raised more than $25,000 during its inaugural Charity Clay Shoot on Dec. 8 at Bermont Shooting Club in Punta Gorda. Funds raised will support Lee BIA Builders Care efforts to provide emergency repairs and construction services at no cost to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged homeowners in Lee County.
“Our Charity Clay Shoot was a great success thanks to the generous support of the community, and we are grateful for their continued dedication as we work to make a difference in the lives of local homeowners in need,” said Christi Pritchett, executive director of BIA Builders Care. “We are thankful for all who contributed to a great inaugural event, and we look forward to hosting this fun event for the community again next year.”
The tournament brought more than 130 participants out to contend in a 16-station course with optional five stand and wobble trap competitions. Following the tournament, teams enjoyed live music from local band, Electric Mud, barbecue lunch provided by Jonesez BBQ, prize drawings, a special presentation from presenting sponsor, Land Solutions, Inc., and an awards ceremony to recognize the top teams and individual winners.
