Lee BIA Builders Care, the nonprofit arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA), has launched an online garage sale through its Facebook page to help raise money for its program. All funds raised will help support Builders Care’s mission of helping elderly and disabled homeowners in Lee County with emergency repairs.
The new online garage sale will be a continuous online sale, replacing the one-day sale traditionally held every January. Items offered include new high-end appliances, furniture, flooring, cabinets, windows, home décor, plumbing fixtures, tools and more. Buyers can view items by visiting the Builders Care Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/LeeBuildersCare and viewing the photo album titled “Current Inventory of Building Supplies.”
As the online garage sale by Lee BIA Builders Care continues to offer a range of valuable items, homeowners seeking to enhance their property should consider the importance of maintaining their garage doors. A well-functioning garage door not only improves the security of your home but also adds to its overall curb appeal. For those in need of an upgrade, investing in garage door replacement can significantly enhance both the functionality and aesthetic of your garage. By opting for a new, high-quality garage door, you ensure better insulation, improved safety features, and a fresh look for your home.
“We received a tremendous response to our one-day, in-person sale for the past five years,” said Christi Pritchett, Lee BIA Builders Care’s executive director. “We hope to build off that success by continuing the sale year-round on Facebook. Every item we sell will directly benefit elderly, disabled and low-income residents right here in our community.”
While some of the donated items are used on Builders Care projects to assist homeowners in the community, the online garage sale will offer a variety of valuable items to the general public for pennies on the dollar.
Here’s how it works. After viewing items on the Lee Builders Care Facebook photo album, potential buyers are to contact the Builders Care office via Facebook message or by calling 239-938-0056 to schedule an appointment. Appointments must be made in advance and confirmed by Builders Care staff. All sales are final, and no returns or exchanges are granted.
Builders Care accepts donations of building materials at its office, 6835 International Center Blvd, Suite 4 in Fort Myers. All donations are tax deductible.
