Lee BIA Builders Care, the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) is hosting its ninth annual BBQ, Bands & Brew fundraising event from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 8 at Centennial Park in Fort Myers. All proceeds raised go directly to Lee BIA Builders Care to support its mission of providing emergency repairs and construction services at no cost to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged homeowners who are unable to obtain repairs through traditional means.
The fundraiser is open to the public and will feature live music from local headlining bands, along with several local barbecue restaurants and vendors. The event will also include a barbecue competition to name the Best BBQ in Town as well as activities for children throughout the day. Admission is $10 per person and children ages 12 and under are free.
For the first year, the BBQ, Bands & Brew event will be held at Centennial Park, located at 2000 W. First St. in Fort Myers. With more than 7,500 guests in attendance for last year’s BBQ, Bands & Brew, the new venue will accommodate the growing crowds with more space for guests to enjoy event festivities and additional opportunities for free on-street and paid lot and garage parking throughout downtown Fort Myers.
“Each year, BBQ, Bands & Brew demonstrates the generosity of the community and their willingness to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors,” said Christi Pritchett, executive director of Lee BIA Builders Care. “We are excited to host our annual event at Centennial Park for the first year, allowing us to bring great music, amazing food and lots of family fun to Southwest Florida while supporting our local homeowners and families in need.”
