Taking Care of Family, Clients & Community for Three Decades

Leadership NEXT to go behind-the-scenes on Feb. 12 at Rauschenberg Gallery

Attendees of February’s Leadership NEXT event will explore the inner-workings of an art gallery and receive an exclusive, narrated look at the newest exhibit to debut at the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery.

Leadership NEXT, a monthly program of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, offers unique educational and networking opportunities for advancing business professionals in Southwest Florida.

The focus of the Feb. 12 session is art galleries, with the distinguished Rauschenberg Gallery as the backdrop. Guiding the conversation will be gallery director Jade Dellinger, who will share expertise about the development of art exhibits and background about Robert Rauschenberg, a painter and multimedia artist known for early works that anticipated the pop art movement.

The Leadership NEXT program runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Rauschenberg Gallery at Florida SouthWestern State College, 8099 College Parkway, Building L, in Fort Myers.

Dellinger, who has overseen the Rauschenberg Gallery since 2013, previously curated exhibitions for the Contemporary Art Museum at the University of South Florida and the Tampa Museum of Art. He has curated major solo museum shows for Wayne White, Yoko Ono, Ann Hamilton, Keith Haring, The Art Guys, John Cage, James Franco, Bob Rauschenberg and many others.

Attendees also will have an opportunity to review the gallery’s newest exhibit – Guerilla Girls: Rattling Cages Since 1985. An internationally-renowned feminist advocacy and art collection, the Guerrilla Girls maintain anonymity while confronting and addressing systemic problems of gender and racial parity in the art world.

Belgian Yummies, a family-owned creamery and sweet shop, will provide a vintage gelato cart and assorted Belgian chocolates for sampling. Complimentary light appetizers and refreshments will be available.

Leadership NEXT is a group of advancing professionals who represent a variety of businesses and industries throughout Southwest Florida. Monthly sessions take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month and offer opportunities to develop new knowledge and skills, establish working relationships with colleagues and engage in valuable programs and discussions to further enhance their careers. The Leadership NEXT annual program is sponsored by the Florida Gulf Coast University Alumni Association.

Leadership NEXT is free to attend for members of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce and $10 for future members. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance at FortMyers.org and follow “Leadership NEXT” on Facebook for more information.
