John R. Wood Properties sponsors Charity for Change GiverTV episode about kindness, giving and gratitude

John R. Wood Properties has sponsored an episode of GiverTV, a new interactive video series by Charity for Change, the Collier County nonprofit behind the classroom-based Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Giver Program.

The sponsored episode, “Kindness, Giving & Gratitude,” focuses on how these three traits can help children achieve their full potential. The video features the program’s mascots, Giver and U2Can, and Charity Karen (Charity for Change founder Karen Conley) teaching foundational skills that include character education and service learning. Watch the sponsored episode here.

“As a long-standing Collier County business, we believe in supporting important initiatives that benefit our community,” said Phil Wood, president of John R. Wood Properties. “GiverTV will help children and parents who are dealing with the impact of the pandemic on education and mental health. As a Charity for Change board member and on behalf of John R. Wood Properties, I am happy to sponsor this valuable resource and support Charity for Change as they create educational opportunities to meet the needs of children in today’s environment.”

The series allows the Charity for Change program to reach students beyond its afterschool, summer school, in-school and pre-school settings that in 12 years have reached 75,000 children in Florida and several other states. The approximately 10-minute videos include real-world examples of key character traits and activities families can do together to help their community. The format includes appearances by community leaders such as Florida Senator Kathleen Passidomo, science experiments and charitable crafts, with downloadable activities available at charityforchange.org. Videos currently available include: Kindness, Perseverance, Self-Control and Citizenship. New videos will be added regularly.
