The Jewish Federation of Greater Naples invites the public to a free lecture by Israel’s leading activist attorney, Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, founder of the Shurat HaDin Law Center, at 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Nina Iser Jewish Cultural Center, 4720 Pine Ridge Road, Naples.
Darshan-Leitner, who focuses on legal actions for terror victims against terror organizations and their supporters, will detail the behind-the-scenes story of how Israeli victims launched an international courtroom struggle against social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to hold them legally liable for providing material support to Palestinian extremist groups in 2015.
“The Jewish Federation of Greater Naples stands with others in condemning all acts of terrorism,” said Jeffrey Feld, president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples. “We are also very aware of the rise in acts of antisemitism on U.S. soil in the past several years, and we are proactive in working to stop these actions and keeping the public informed. The fascinating lecture will detail how the terror victims and their lawyers are finally turning the tables on those targeting the world Jewish community and Israel.”
The high-profile case resulting from Darshan-Leitner’s efforts, Gonzalez v. Google, will soon be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. The case could result in an unprecedented decision that could bring the Big Tech companies to their knees.
The event is free to the public, but registration is requested in order to accommodate all guests. Please visit jfgn.regfox.com/nitsana-presentation to register.
