The Jewish Federation of Greater Naples has appointed five new board members and a new board vice president, while re-electing its remaining board members and all other members of its slate of officers, including returning board chair Dr. Nat Ritter.
Ritter, who assumed the board leadership role in spring 2023, is a retired orthodontist and Naples resident who previously practiced in Dayton, Ohio, for 35 years. He succeeded Jane Schiff, whose six-year tenure as board chair was capped by a successful $13 million capital campaign, culminating with the opening of the Nina Iser Jewish Cultural Center.
The 20,000-square-foot, two-story center on Pine Ridge Road has emerged as a hub of activity for the Naples Jewish community. The Greater Naples community is home to an estimated 12,000 individuals who identify as Jewish.
Ritter is joined by a slate of officers also installed for new one-year terms at the Federation’s annual meeting on Sunday, April 7, including new vice chair Robin Mintz. Returning officers include:
- Marc Saperstein and Arlene Sobol, vice chairs
- Rosalee Bogo, secretary
- Steve Strome, treasurer
- Jane Schiff, immediate past chair
In addition, the following new board members were appointed for two years:
- Felicia Anchor
- Shelly Bell
- Mark Blaskey
- Max Deifik
- Mia Hyatt
The new board members join eight other returnees whose terms expire in two years.
